A man wrapped in a tattered and abused American flag, holds a riveted stare at the glowing cross towering over the scene. The intensity and treachery of the journey ahead has no bearing over his divine calling and obligation. While most paintings honor the past, 'A New Manifest Destiny' empowers an auspicious future of reconquering the spirit, identity and politics of America. While this multifront war for the west has many roots, it all revolves around one thing: Christ. Our success is fully based on our proximity to him, he is the only answer to sustain a future for Americans.
My hope for this painting, is that it will be a historical marker and a sort of sequel to the great historical painting 'American Progress' by John Gast. It's a part 2 in American History, where our endeavors are once again driven by divine promise or 'Manifest Destiny.'
